Last week the Hog Roast Droitwich team had the privilege of joining local Droitwich birthday boy, Andy Harris, for his 40th celebrations at the Droitwich Rugby Club.
Just as we were heading into Valentines weekend, there was one big celebration that had nothing to do with cupid nor romance in Droitwich. Instead, it was a massive celebration with around 120 of Andy Harris’ friends, family, and colleagues to mark his 40th birthday. Evidently a popular one around town, this was an exciting and brilliant birthday celebration worthy of the man.
And so, of course, Hog Roast Droitwich’s catering was sure to rise to such an occasion, too. Our team came out to the rugby club early in the day and got roasters and foods prepped in place. For 120 guests, it had to be our signature hog roast. Able to feed 100 guests alone, it is always going to be a winner when you combine it with our crispy golden crackling, our fresh sage and onion stuffing, and a refreshing apple sauce for even more tang and flavour in every bite. As a vegetarian option, our grilled veg and halloumi skewers were up to punt, accompanied by a cooling tzatziki dip and a tangy sweet chilli sauce. With so many guests on show, the Hog Roast Droitwich team favoured a quicker, more accessible service with rolls and wraps available to pick up through the night. All that was needed was a simple helping hand from our wonderful serving team to pile those rolls and wraps full to the brim with our tasty pulled pork, crackling and stuffing, or our grilled veg and halloumi skewers.
We were happy to see our foods go down a treat, with many guests coming back for seconds and event thirds, and with more than a few compliments to add for our chefs, foods, and servers too! As for the birthday boy: we can safely assume that Andy had just as good a time as we did. As for how long the celebrations went on into the night, we can only guess – but we can bet it was a late one!
