As the wedding season progresses, we at Hog Roast Shrewsbury like to keep our customers updated with some of the wonderful dining receptions that we cater for throughout. One, as it helps document some of the unique weddings we’re catering for, so that we can always look back at it again and remember just how excellent an event it was. And second, so that you too can see the exact kinds of fun you can have with our dining, be it for your own wedding, or maybe just a private party or even a work event.
Documenting this one at the brilliant Burlton Manor just a short drive north from Shrewsbury is a must. The Hog Roast Shrewsbury team that attended the beautiful wedding event of Rebecca and Callum just could not wait to tell you about it. With not only a lovely couple to cater for, but an extraordinary venue to be serving in and 80 delightful guests all done up the 9s, it was a brilliant occasion to be a part, of and one that we’ll look back at again and again as a perfect example of what the wedding season brings.
Setting up in the brilliant manor grounds, Head Chef Dave and the Hog Roast Shrewsbury team had the smoky barbecue glazes, hot sauces and spicy dry rubs out, because our menu was due to be our fantastic southern slow roast menu. Taking its inspiration from the smoky and hot barbecuing style of the American southern states, this is a menu that delivers a punch for the big occasions – and they don’t get much bigger than a wonderful wedding in such extraordinary venue grounds!
For the wedding’s dining, the main meats were our BBQ pork butt, Cajun spiced chicken thighs, and our Texas style beef brisket, all cooked low and slow for the perfect balance of tender texture with flavour that has had a tonne of time to intensify. To help cool off these spicy and tangy meats, our side accompaniments consisted of crunchy slaw, creamy mac and cheese, seasonal leafy greens, and a medley of regular and sweet potato fries.
From the whole Hog Roast Shrewsbury team, our thanks to the lovely couple and all guests for welcoming us in and making us a part of such a special day!
