After a year of lockdowns, families across the country are reuniting with their loved ones through reunions and celebrations. As we move into the summer and see an increase in warm days and long nights, this has been the perfect opportunity to host a family reunion to remember!
In springtime, the Gibson family reached out to Hog Roast Craven Arms as they were interested in hosting a family reunion and they want to hire us to cater for the event. We were more than happy to do this since we knew how rewarding it would be to see this family enjoying some well-needed quality time together.
For the catering, we were asked to provide our slow-roasted pork menu, followed by a delicious selection of desserts. This would create a perfect lunch menu to be served buffet-style at the outdoor venue. The family expected there to be around 45 guests in attendance, so we planned to provide catering for 50 guests to ensure there was plenty for everyone to enjoy.
On the day of the event, our Hog Roast Craven Arms catering team arrived well in advance to slow-roast the pig to perfection. While this was roasting we prepared a selection of fresh bread rolls and wraps, as well as a selection of fresh salad options. We have a large range of salad choices available, but the family had opted for homemade coleslaw and tomato and mozzarella salad. Once the pig had been roasted, our chef raised it on its serving platform and carved it into delicious slices that were ideal for placing in a roll or wrap.
After the guests had enjoyed their main course, we served our selection of desserts. The family chose fresh fruit salad, cheesecake, and profiteroles to ensure that there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The reunion was a great success and it was a lovely afternoon spent catching up and chatting in the beautiful weather.
