It was Janet’s 40th birthday on Friday, and hoping to properly mark the occasion, she had asked all of her family and friends to join her in celebrating the day with a cocktail masterclass and hog roast party!
Hog Roast Wellington was, of course, ecstatic when Janet had booked us to handle the catering for her event, and to ensure everything was ready on time for the birthday girl’s arrival that afternoon, our team made sure to reach the party’s location hours beforehand.
Specially for the occasion, Janet had rented out a function hall large enough to host all 120 of her guests, plus our catering crew and the team of mixologists, too. When Hog Roast Wellington arrived, they found the spacious room had already been decorated by the venue owners to suit the client’s taste, with purple and white balloons, streamers and fairy lights all around. The tables had even been set up with tablecloths and party favours.
With no time to lose, our team quickly began setting up the cooking equipment and serving tables at the very back of the hall, so as not to get in the way of the cocktail making session. After which, they laid out a row of condiments and dips beside the crockery and cutlery before getting started on the food.
For the main meal, Janet had chosen our classic hog roast, featuring crackling, stuffing, tender pulled pork and applesauce served on crunchy wholemeal rolls with side options of gourmet coleslaw, authentic Greek salad and a mix of sweet potato and regular fries. Janet had also informed us that a few of the guests were vegan or vegetarian, so to accommodate their needs Hog Roast Wellington prepared our BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls dressed with plant-based ‘slaw.
We’re pleased to share that Janet had a wonderful start to her fourth decade! When she arrived, Hog Roast Wellington quickly greeted her with a plateful of delicious food, before welcoming the guests to help themselves. After that, it was time to get started on making cocktails, which everyone seemed to have a lot of fun doing. It’s certainly a day we won’t forget!
