Mid-April saw us working alongside a team of mobile bar staff from Walton Mixology to help Rian create an epic experience for her husband Neil’s 40th birthday!
Using the milestone occasion as the perfect excuse to spoil him rotten, Rian had come to us looking for a scrumptious spread that would satisfy the taste buds of all 45 people whom she had invited to attend the celebration. And as always, Hog Roast Kington was up to the challenge!
After discussing the many different menu options we have available, it was determined that our Hog Roast Menu 3 would be the best fit for the style of event and budget that Rian had in mind. So, when the day of Neil’s b-day rolled around, Hog Roast Kington made the lengthy journey to the couple’s home in Pontypridd, where our catering managers, Dave and Joe, spent all afternoon slaving over the HogMaster to create an irresistibly juicy hog roast for everyone.
The warm weather and glorious sunshine helped speed up the cooking process considerably. And whilst the pig sizzled away, Hog Roast Kington prepped the gourmet coleslaw, ripe cherry tomato salads, new potatoes and mixed fries, which were served as a buffet; either in chafing dishes or in bamboo wooden bowls alongside a basket of gluten-free rolls and wraps. Dave and Joe also laid out plenty of condiments and dips for the guests to help themselves, and to ensure that everyone felt included, they whipped up a batch of our famous grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs with tzatziki dip and flatbreads.
Everyone was so pleased with the outcome of Dave and Joe’s labour, which gave them the chance to experience an authentic hog roast complete with crackling, homemade stuffing and applesauce. The fact that the weather remained on its best behaviour well into the evening was just an added bonus that made dining in the couple’s back garden even more of a pleasure!
Between the refreshing cocktails that Walton Mixology served and Hog Roast Kington’s stunning menu items, the guests had a splendid time – especially birthday boy Neil, who was so thankful for the effort Rian had gone to in order to make his big day feel even more special.
