Did you hear? Christmas markets are returning to our town centres later on this year, and no one is more excited about it than we are! The glittering lights and festive decorations, the stalls selling handmade wares and, of course, our favourite part of all, the delicious food!
If you ask us, nothing in this world beats a steaming hot takeaway treat to accompany you as you weave between the packed booths and soak up the magical atmosphere, especially if it happens to be snowing. So, this year, we’re ecstatic to announce that our Hog Roast Shifnal team has been invited to attend several open-air markets across Shropshire, where we’ll be tasked with serving our sumptuous hog roasts to members of the local community.
Our Hog Roast Shifnal catering manager, Dave, joined by his son-in-law, Joe, has already begun preparing for all the markets that we’ve been asked to cater at throughout November and December, and they’re both really looking forward to each event, after having missed out on these types of celebrations last year.
The first booking of this nature will go ahead in the second week of November, where the pair will have as many as 500 people to feed across a 4-hour period. To make things a little bit easier on themselves and hopefully save a massive queue from forming, the duo has opted to cook our tasty hog roast rolls, which consist of fork-tender pulled pork, served in a gluten-free or wholemeal bun with fresh salad, expertly presented crackling, homemade sage and onion stuffing and a choice of applesauce or gourmet coleslaw for the topping.
Those who are vegetarian or vegan will, on this occasion, be presented with our gorgeous pulled jackfruit, which is steeped in a delicious hickory BBQ sauce and dressed in crunchy, vegan coleslaw before being piled into a soft and floury roll.
If your taste buds are tingling just thinking about the glorious food that Hog Roast Shifnal is scheduled to prepare, then keep your eyes peeled for our catering unit, which might be coming to a town centre near you this Christmastime!
