Hog Roast Gobowen – Garden Wedding!

So far, 2020 has been a disastrous year for many couples who have either had to move their wedding dates or even cancel their big days completely! But for those of you who still want to get hitched, Hog Roast Gobowen is here to help…

Hog Roast GobowenAs the world slowly awakens from its surreal slumber, and lockdown eases, our dedicated team have been busy doing what we do best. Serving our mouth-watering hog roast spreads to the (socially distanced) masses! Last weekend, it was the turn of a local couple who were so eager to tie the knot, that they had organised a full-blown wedding to take place in their back garden surrounded by 38 of their closest friends and family members.

For the special occasion, the pair had asked Hog Roast Gobowen to cook and serve our signature southern slow roast spread which features a collection of classic American-style dishes, making it the ultimate comfort food feast.

Choosing from the range of meat options on offer, the lovebirds opted to include BBQ pork butt, Texan 24 hour beef brisket and cajun spiced whole roast chicken along with some drool-worthy side dishes to complement the main course. These included our Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, seasonal green leaf salad, potato salad, mixed fries and last, but not least, some baskets of freshly-baked gluten-free rolls and wraps.

Working towards the 3 pm serving time, Hog Roast Gobowen’s catering manager Dave arrived at the couple’s home hours before the guests made their appearance. As always, his first course of action was to pitch the catering gazebo and get the meats sizzling away while he laid out the eco-friendly wooden crockery and cutlery alongside a tray of condiments.

Before long, the row of chafing dishes overflowed with fork-tender meats and delicious sides, which the newlyweds and their guests were desperate to get stuck into!

Thankfully, the weather also remained on its best behaviour which made eating outside even more of a pleasure, and after happily polishing off the delicious main course, Hog Roast Gobowen treated the guests to a platter of freshly sliced pineapple, watermelon and mango.
