Along with our work with local businesses in and around Shropshire, Hog Roast Market Drayton’s corporate catering services are also regularly utilised by some of our local sports clubs from all around the area. One such brilliant client of ours that we have begun to build up quite the rapport with is the lovely folks at the Pelsall Cricket and Sports Club. With local teams in both football and cricket, Pelsall Cricket and Sports club do lots for the community, so we at Hog Roast Market Drayton have only been all too happy to help them out in return for their annual cricket celebrations.
Thanks to the wonderful Helen, this has been Hog Roast Market Drayton’s second year in a row catering for this excellent annual event. The yearly celebration invites current and former cricket players from Pelsall along with all the staff and volunteers that help the club to continue to tick all year round. Awards are presented, speeches and shows of gratitude are given, and a mass raffle takes place to raise further funds for the club so that they can keep on doing what they do best: winning cricket games and having fun in the local community!
For our part in the evening, the Hog Roast Market Drayton team fired up the roaster and the grill and got to cooking our exquisite Southern Slow Roast menu for the 90 odd guests in attendance. When it is as cold as November has been thus far, this American inspired sizzler is just the thing to warm up the party! Nothing brings more comfort than a good 24 hour aged Texas Style Beef Brisket, or our whole roasted Cajun chickens, our sticky BBQ pork belly, and of course a good helping of Hog Roast Market Drayton’s staple pulled pork made fresh from one of our famous hog roasts. Combine that with a good helping of roast potatoes, Greek salads, homemade slaw, and plenty of rolls and wraps, and you have an awards night worth celebrating!
The feedback was immense from all of the guests and we enjoyed taking in some of the festivities and awards while we cooked, served, and later packed up. We hope plenty of funds were raised in the end, and we hope to see all at Pelsall again the same time next year!
