The Hog Roast Marshbrook team were thrilled when catering for an event at The Shooting Lodge in Acton Scott was booked. The team were excited at the opportunity to cater the private event.
The venue was a beautiful, rustic lodge near to Birmingham and provided the team with ample of space to work in. Catering Manager Dave very much enjoyed working in the open air, even if storm Ciara tried her best to prevent the hard work! Dave worked hard under the gazebo, sheltered from the harsh winds and rain to produce food fit for royalty.
The menu selected by the clients gave the Hog Roast Marshbrook team plenty of dishes to demonstrate their excellence within the field of catering. The plentiful platters of delicious food had to be flexible and serve up to 40 people, as there was no specific set number of guests. The clients worked closely with Dave from Hog Roast Marshbrook to make a menu selection, using Menu 3 as a base upon which to build.
The menu Dave would be working hard to create on the stormy day of the event included vegetarian and vegan options, so that guests of all dietary requirements were catered for. The delicious meat-free alternatives were: perfectly grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers, and the vegan option was hearty grilled vegetable skewers with a selection of gluten free bread rolls. Alongside this there was a perfectly sizzled, slow roasted hog with apple sauce and crispy crackling, as well as an assortment of other tasty dishes.
Catering manager Dave arrived at The Shooting Lodge several hours prior to the 7pm serving time, so that he could set up the gazebo and his equipment. He made everything fresh on site after his arrival, and he set up the serving table, which was complete with wooden crockery and cutlery that Hog Roast Marshbrook supplied as part of the bespoke catering package.
Despite the harsh weather conditions the event was a massive success. Catering Manager Dave kept a cool head even as the weather worsened and at 7pm the guests and clients tucked into a whole host of wonderful food.
