With the entire country being taken hostage by the dreary winter weather, fewer people are looking to host their events outside – and who could blame them? But Hog Roast Oswestry is proud to offer a solution to your woes with our mouth-watering menus which are sure to keep you and your guests delightfully toasty from the inside. In fact, just last weekend the team were invited to help the staff at Conwy’s Rybrook Land Rover branch unveil their brand new Land Rover Defender to the public for the first time ever!
While we admittedly don’t know that much about cars outside of our trusty catering van, the Hog Roast Oswestry team are unrivalled when it comes to creating a succulent and meaty feast using only the finest locally sourced ingredients; and for this occasion, catering extraordinaires Dave and Joe were asked by Vicky to prepare our classic hog roast menu. With an estimated number of 100 people predicted to turn up to the big reveal, Dave and Joe made sure to include a couple of meat-free alternatives for any vegetarians and vegans as well as an abundance of our inclusive soft-floured gluten-free rolls and wraps.
Preparing to impress the Land Rover team and their customers with our flavourful menu, Hog Roast Oswestry arrived on site in the mid-morning which gave them just enough time to rustle up the tantalising buffet before the agreed 4 pm serving time. Arriving guests took an immediate interest in the hog roast feast which included a large whole roasted pig that had been slow-cooking for several hours in our Hog Master Pro before reaching a golden brown colour and served with side dishes of crispy crackling, juicy pulled pork, savoury stuffing and sweet applesauce. Those following plant-based diets were given the equally delicious alternative of colourful grilled vegetable skewers with optionable haloumi which went down a treat – even among the meat-lovers!
There was more than enough food to go around and while the customers seemed to love the new Land Rover model, it was the hog roast that most of them took a real shine to in the end.
