With Autumn now in full swing, the drizzly weather and sub-zero temperatures are here to stay, but that doesn’t mean we can’t all enjoy a special occasion in the great outdoors. With Hog Roast Stafford on hand to deliver the perfect soul food that will warm you and your guests to the very core, party season never had to end! As a result, we are seeing more and more people taking their end-of-year events outside and last weekend our catering crew were hired by Dovecliff Hall Hotel to rustle up one of our classic hog roast menus for a lovely couple’s wedding day.
Keeping in theme with the traditional Georgian manor house venue, Hog Roast Stafford’s catering duo Dave and Joe used real China crockery to serve the delicious feast which they began preparing six hours in advance of the 9 pm serving time. Working under the cover of darkness is never an easy feat, but thanks to our high-intensity light bulbs and their years of collective experience the pair were able to pull it off with no trouble at all.
When newlyweds Dan and Laura finally made their grand entrance in the late evening closely followed by their 100 guests, they were immediately impressed by the buffet that was laid out before them. Gluten-free rolls were neatly arranged in wicker baskets with protruding cone-shaped wraps, a selection of chafing dishes containing savoury stuffing, crispy crackling, succulent pulled pork and vegetarian and vegan-friendly grilled vegetable skewers with optionable haloumi were lined up on the serving table for the guests to help themselves and the show-stopping whole pig in all its golden glory was in full view for the wedding party to admire.
After a long day, the guests were keen to fill their plates with large helpings of the mouth-watering grub that the Hog Roast Stafford team had spent the entirety of the afternoon preparing, and with every bite they took, the wedding party seemed to fall even more in love with our famous menu – so much so, that before Dave and Joe cleared away the aftermath at the end of the event, they found themselves handing out business cards to a number of interested guests!
