Hog Roast Wem – Turning up the Spice in Our Wedding Catering!

Hog RoastWhen the Hog Roast Wem catering team were approached by wedding customers Sam and Rich, who were looking for something a little outside our usual advertised fare, we were only all too happy to acquiesce!

After months of discussion and tinkering with Sam and Rich, the big day finally came just this past week out at the stunning Hafod Farm. An immense venue that has recently made it into the finals of two of North Wales most prestigious wedding venue awards, Hafod Farm played perfect hosts to a wonderful ceremony and follow up reception. For our part, Hog Roast Wem were there on hand for the ceremony to kick things off with a delicious curry dinner. You may of course not know us as curry specialists, but our head chef Joe has all kinds of expertise with a wide variety of culinary styles. Sure, we love prepping and serving our hog roasts for events each day, but to get a little something different on the menu was hugely exciting for us and a nice challenge. For our curry dinner, we had options of fresh chicken curry or veg curry, each served with fluffy white rice, soft naan, and crispy poppadoms. It was such a hit, with guests coming back again and again for more, that we have to consider whether we should change our name to Curry Roast Wem– now there’s an idea!

But we weren’t finished there. As a follow up to what was already shaping up to be an excellent celebration of Rich and Sam’s love, we then set up a grazing table filled to the table with our fresh antipasti meats, cheeses, breads, leaves, and oil dips, along with fresh fruit too. It’s a nice, lighter way to close out a service after our more heavy curries, and leaves guests well served for the entire night of dancing and partying ahead!

With such a different kind of menu, we hope that others may be inspired by Rich and Sam to also come to Hog Roast Wem for the foods you want for your special day!
