Earlier this summer, Hog Roast Shifnal was hired to provide catering for a charity ball located in Shropshire. The ball was being hosted in aid of a local children’s charity, with proceeds going to families who are in need. Guests were invited to the black-tie event to enjoy a formal meal, followed by a performance by a live band. For the catering, our manager Dave was asked to prepare a three-course meal for the guests, including canapes and a delicious dessert course.
On the day of the event, Dave and the Hog Roast Shifnal team arrived at the venue and began setting up our catering station. Once ready, we got to work preparing the dishes for the guests. At 7:30pm, the guests began to arrive, and we served a selection of canapes as they mingled. The canapes included mini fish and chips, an Indian selection, roasted duck, and salmon.
Once the guests were seated, they enjoyed a classic Hog Roast Shifnal main course, consisting of a slow-roasted hog and all of the trimmings. We served delicious, succulent sliced meat, as well as sage and onion stuffing, seasonal vegetables, roasted baby potatoes, crispy crackling, and fresh applesauce. The main course went down a treat and was a favourite among the guests.
To finish the menu, the guests chose between profitero
les and chocolate torte. The desserts were served with English cream and fresh berries, to create a delicious and elegant final course.
